Minerals Found in Tanzania

Iron is a silvery-white, lustrous, malleable, ductile, magnetic or magnetizable, metallic element occurring abundantly in combined forms, notably in hematite and magnetite.

Iron deposits occur in several places in Tanzania. It mainly occurs in Liganga, Uluguru Mountains, Mbabala near Lake Tanganyika, Karema, Manyoro Gondite and Itewe.

Iron is useful in our society today because it is virtually used in almost everything : building (bridge , highway , rail road), transportation (car , train , boats , plane) , tools (knife , machines) and medical uses.
